26-09-2021 - NPC management and dialog trees


It's been a long time since the last update. But during all this time, I've been quite busy both with my life in general and working on Debu Complex. So here are the new features:

Features

  • NPC management system
  • Dialog trees and event system
  • Gifts and NPC preferences

Misc

  • Fixed numerous nasty glitches
  • Refactored a bit of code
  • Downsized the texture pages a bit for better compatibility

What's next?

For now I want to focus on finishing the sprites and start working on clothes. I'll also try to complete the currently available personality, and work on properly re-implementing the two personalities I previously discarded.

Once all this is done, I'll work on adding new NPCs, places and events.


Also... Happy birthday Debucon. I started working on this game exactly one year ago. Thank you to everyone who showed interest in this project so far!

how many sweets do i need to give her for her to start gaining wight

Just like your character, if you want a NPC to gain weight weight, you need to feed them high-calories food. The more you pack the girl with calories, the faster she'll gain weight.

how long does it take to get cake

It'll take a bit longer, there are multiple things I want to work on before I implement them back in. But I can start working on that, sure!

how can we give emma gifts? how do we till if its sunday are not?

You can give her gifts once you've befriended her. Interact with her  at least once a day for a couple days, then try to select the "chat" option. She will open up.

The game is based on your system's clock; one day in the game corresponds to one "real" day. So when it's Sunday in real life, it's Sunday in-game. I'll add a few words on that in the tutorial for clarity.

What exactly counts as an "interaction" as in just talking, buying or attempting to give gifts?

Basically, clicking on her to trigger the dialog sequence.
